Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why Choose Espresso Gears?

Espresso Gears has been the number one espresso machine distributor across Washington and Oregon for almost 30 years. We provide the best espresso machines that produce the highest quality espresso. Our owner spent time in Italy working with manufacturers to understand espresso machine equipment, so you can be sure you’re getting the most exceptional espresso machines. Plus, we install, service, train, and cover warranties on anything we sell. We also have filtrations systems for all your needs and provide consulting on equipment replacement and small business startups.  We are the leaders in espresso machines. So, whatever your problem, we can help you choose a machine, and if you happen to have problems, our experienced technicians can make sure we get your machine fixed fast and easy!

  • Should I get a traditional machine or a superautomatic machine?

When deciding between a traditional and superautomatic machine, there are a few key differences to keep in mind.  Traditional machines give you the most control when making drinks and are cheaper than superautomatic machines.  They also have lower maintenance costs.  Superautomatic machines cost more, but they are easier to use and require less training to operate.

  • What espresso machine brands do you offer?

The three main brands we feature are La Marzocco, Rancilio, and Egro.

  • What kind of maintenance do you offer?

We offer full support after sale. Maintenance extends the life of your machine while also preventing the need for future repairs. Our maintenance includes a deep cleaning of the brew unit, replacement of brew unit O-rings (superautomatic machines), pressure testing and calibration, and group gasket replacement.

  • How do I know if my machine is worth repairing, or if I should just replace it?

Espresso machines are usually worth repairing, as the repair costs do not come close to the cost of replacing the machine.  Usually, after repairs, a machine can operate for several more years before another issue may arise.  However, if we see that a machine is too old or the repair costs are more than the machine is worth, we may recommend replacing the machine.  In that case, we will work with you to find the perfect machine that fits your needs and budget.
